During the past 15 years, Matthew Miller has worked in the highest levels of government, campaigns, and corporations as a trusted advisor, communications strategist and crisis counselor to political and business leaders.

Before joining Vianovo, Matt served as the Director of the Office Public Affairs for the Department of Justice, leading the Department’s communications team and serving as Attorney General Eric Holder’s spokesman.  At DOJ, he helped manage the Obama administration’s media response to three terrorist attacks and oversaw DOJ communications on the financial crisis, major white collar and criminal investigations, and antitrust and civil matters.

Matt has worked in leadership positions in both the U.S. House and Senate, serving as communications director for the House Democratic Caucus and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.  As the lead communications strategist for DSCC Chairman Senator Charles Schumer, he helped Senate Democrats win eight Senate seats in 2008.  As communications director for Senator Robert Menendez, Matt helped him win appointment to the Senate and election to a full term.  In 2004, he led the Kerry presidential campaign’s Florida press operation, directing research, communications, and rapid response.

Miller also worked for five years as a Senior Strategist at Public Strategies, Inc., where he developed and implemented legislative, regulatory, public affairs, and media campaigns for a range of Fortune 500 corporations and trade associations.  He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.
