In an op-ed for major newspapers on both sides of the border, ViaNovo partner Tony Garza outlines the challenges and opportunities in US-Mexico relations. Garza, who served as U.S. ambassador to Mexico from 2002 to 2009, writes, “The convergence we're seeing of security, immigration and economic challenges with election cycles in both countries means strident rhetoric will ratchet up. That's a reality we must deal with, but it won't be productive… neither country can afford to allow political tempers and rhetoric to derail progress, not when both countries' prosperity and security hangs in the balance.”
